Ishiya Nihonbashi is a delightful coffee shop located in the heart of Tokyo’s Chuo City, renowned for its luxurious Hokkaido-inspired desserts, particularly its pancakes. Customers rave about the “Ishiya Pancake,” known for its stunning presentation and unique texture, which resembles a dense steamed egg bun rather than the typical fluffy souffle variety. The vibrant toppings and colorful whipped cream elevate the experience, making a single pancake ample to share.
The menu also dazzles with desserts like the “白いパフェ,” which combines rich Hokkaido milk gelato, a variety of local fruits, and delightful textures, providing a sweet yet surprisingly savory bite. Visitors highlight the thoughtful balance of flavors, especially in the parfait, where unexpected salty elements complement the sweetness perfectly.
The atmosphere strikes visitors as modern and upscale, albeit a bit impersonal, with many recommending a morning visit to avoid long wait times. Service impresses with its efficiency, ensuring a smooth dining experience even when the café gets busy. Overall, Ishiya Nihonbashi offers a refined taste of Hokkaido’s acclaimed desserts, making it a must-visit destination for dessert enthusiasts in Tokyo.

Reviews for Ishiya Nihonbashi
Review highlights
Based on 594 reviewsIshiya Nihonbashi is widely appreciated for its unique pancake offerings, distinguished by a denser, steamed bun-like texture that sets it apart from typical soufflé pancakes in Japan. Customers frequently highlight the creative and visually appealing presentations, especially the colorful whipped cream and carefully paired toppings like chocolate and fruit sauces. The menu also features indulgent items such as parfaits with an unexpected balance of sweet and salty flavors, alongside rich soft-serve ice cream. The café's modern and upscale atmosphere, coupled with attentive service, enhances the overall experience, though it can be crowded at peak times. While drinks receive less emphasis, the quality of coffee and tea complements the desserts effectively, making Ishiya Nihonbashi a favored spot for dessert lovers seeking distinctive flavors and presentation.
It’s a cafe produced by Ishiya, the company that makes famous Hokkaido sweets Shiroi-Koibito. This store been famous for its gorgeous pancakes with colorful whip cream on top. The pancake is not the soufflé pancake that you see in Japan but it’s more heavy and it’s texture is close to steamed egg bun. We split one pancake with two people but that was totally enough. It will be too much to order one per person. It will be crowded in afternoon, so I suggest to go at Morning if you don’t want to wait on a queue.
5 Food 5/5 delicious and very chocolatey The parfait was absolutely amazing! Sweet, chocolaty and topped off with a crown of soft ice. Absolutely wonderful and exactly what I needed at that moment! Especially interesting were some salty ingredients which surprised me but somehow it still slapped Drinks - No drink ordered unless you count the parfait Atmosphere 4/5 The interior was modern and functional with many straight lines and bright colors. Still it felt a little cold. I find it hard to describe but it just did not give off any warmth at all. It was OK but not amazing. Cleanliness 5/5 No complaints Service 5/5 The servers were very polite, fast and professional. Maybe a tad too professional but all in all top service.
I came for the pancake and was not disappointed. The presentation of the pancake (strawberry in this case) is the defining feature of this cafe, and it’s worth it. We also ordered the zenzai, vanilla ice cream, coffee, and black tea — all good.
I had the pancakes with chocolate sauce and my kids had the pancakes with strawberry sauce. They were wonderful. The chocolate sauce had nuts, small bits of chocolate and small pieces of a brittle. Wonderful! This place has a nice, upscale atmosphere. The fruit tea was also wonderful. It was crowded at the time but the service was excellent.
Stopped by for soft serve, and skipped the queue by ordering takeout and eating in the public space of Muromachi Terrace. The soft serve had a rich texture and milky taste, but wasn’t as smooth as say, Cremia. But worth eating if you’re around and craving ice cream.
Amazing pancakes!! Nuff said!! They got other items on the menu that all look amazing including some parfait and ice cream
The most amazing and delicious parfait and hot chocolate!
Came here on a Monday afternoon for a icecream - around 2pm when I came it wasn't busy and could easily get a seat. Place is not somewhere where you could spend a long time as seating isn't too relaxing (high stools and only wooden chairs) The icecream I had was decent at 450 yen. They had a pancake special for 2000 yen which was slightly expensive for what you get. They have a few Tokyo only special shiroi koibito which is plus.
